Creating a carousel template for WhatsApp

This guide provides a step-by-step process for creating a carousel template in Quick Reply.

Step 1

Click on "Create WhatsApp Template."

Step 2

Enter the name of the template you wish to create.

Step 3

Select the category as "Marketing" and choose the type as "Carousel."

Step 4

Click on "Create."

Step 5

About carousel templates

1. Carousel templates contain message body text (max 1024 characters) and up to 10 carousel cards.

2. Each card in the template has

a. an image or video header asset

b. Accepted file types: .mp4 within 10MB size, in case of Video Carousel and Accepted file types: JPEG, .JPG,.PNG within 5MB size, in case of Image Carousel

c. Each card body text can have max 160 characters including variable values

d. Up to two buttons (can be a mix of quick reply , phone number , and website buttons)

Step 6

Type some text for the message bubble.

Step 7

Next, create the carousel cards by filling in the body and at least 1 button

Step 8

Add another card and fill in the required details.

Step 9

If you attempt to change the header or button type/order of any card, you will receive a warning that changing this change will be effective for all other cards.

Step 10

Provide the sample values for variables and header and click "Submit" to apply the carousel template for approval.
