How to Add & Organize Buttons & Suggestions in RCS Templates

This guide covers the practical steps for adding, configuring, reordering, and removing buttons in rich card templates — both Card Actions (buttons on the card, max. 4) and Suggestions (chips below the message, max. 11).

For the full field reference of every button type, see Card Actions and Suggestions (Chips).

Adding a Button

  1. In the template editor, expand the Card Actions or Suggestions section.

  2. Click + Add button (Card Actions) or + Add Suggestion (Suggestions).

  3. Choose one of the five button types from the dropdown:

  4. Quick Reply

  5. Website

  6. Call Phone

  7. View Location

  8. Create Calendar Event

  9. Fill in the fields for that type. Every button needs a button text of up to 25 characters — the label your customer sees.

Repeat until you reach the limit — the "Add" control disables once the maximum is reached (e.g., "A maximum of 4 buttons have been added").

Configuring Each Button Type

  • Quick Reply — enter the Reply text (max. 25 characters) that will be sent back to you when tapped.

  • Website — enter the button text, choose the URL Type (Static with a fixed URL and optional UTM parameters, or Dynamic with a per-recipient btn_{{1}} value), and keep Link Tracking on to record clicks.

  • Call Phone — enter the button text and the phone number including country code.

  • View Location — enter the button text, then choose the Location Source: Static (fill in Latitude −90 to 90, Longitude −180 to 180, and an optional Label; a Map Preview appears so you can verify the pin) or Dynamic (coordinates provided per recipient).

  • Create Calendar Event — enter the button text, then choose the Calendar Source: Static (fill in Event Title, Description, Start Time, and End Time) or Dynamic (event details provided per recipient).

Disabling Link Tracking on a Website button will prompt a confirmation dialog — turning it off also disables UTM tracking, and no click data will be recorded for that button.

Reordering Buttons

Use the ↑ / ↓ arrow controls at the top right of each button block to move it up or down. The order in the editor is the order customers see — put your primary action first.

Removing a Button

Click the delete (trash) icon at the top right of the button block.

Organizing Tips

  • Lead with the primary action. The first Card Action gets the most taps — make it your main conversion goal (e.g., "Shop Now").

  • Don't duplicate across Card Actions and Suggestions. Use Card Actions for the card's core actions and Suggestions for secondary options (e.g., "Call store", "Visit store").

  • Keep labels short and action-oriented. You have 25 characters — verbs work best: "Track Order", "Book a demo", "View address".

  • On carousels, remember Card Actions belong to each card, while Suggestions apply to the whole message.
